ORC International Murter Cup, Croatia

Racing season has started in Croatia with ORC International Murter Cup opening event of the ORC Adriatic Challenge Trophy that gathered 14 boats wishing to try new ORC International rule for the first time. After 3 windward/leeward races with nice condititions, first reactions are very positive.

A very pleasant day was today at the race course although the forecast for today was a poor one – rain and almost no wind, but the day ended up sunny with moderate winds, simply perfect conditions after the winter pause. New rating rule, new sails, new season. Every crew was testing and tuning try to get the most from the boat. First race was started with 6 knots of southerly wind on the first leg that gradually built up to 13 knots  and settled at 11-12 knots in the second race. The first day finished with third windward/leeward race and much lighter wind conditions.

Bohemia Express (Richard Vojta, CZE, Grand Soleil 42R) is leading after three races with two wins and a fourth place, followed by three differen boats but with exactly the same number of points: X-cite (Tonko Rameša, CRO, X 41), Gringo 2 (Robert Sandalić, CRO, A 40), and Squalo Blanco (Frane Barbieri, CRO, J/V 37). Next three boats are again in only two points difference, what means that two more windwadr/leeward races scheduled for tomorrow will be very interesting.
