The 2010 Hankø season will be a highlight for big Boats sailors!
Royal Norwegian Yacht Club (KNS) is, in cooperation with Fredrikstad Sailing Club, expanding the traditional Race Week with a big boat series. We invite the X-41, X-35, First 40.7 One Design Classes and the ORC International Class. The series will be a part of the NORC ORCi Cup.

KNS Commodore, Tor Møinichen states: ”Over the last couple of years, many sailors have asked for big boat sailing at the Hankø Race Week.

There is a growing interest and we are now inviting some competent and high level classes to Hankø in 2010.” He continues: “- We look forward to be working together with the class associations and Fredrikstad  Sailing Club  to create a remarkable event at the excellent Hankø waters.”

Chairman of the Norwegian Offshore Sailors, Thomas Nilsson, says this is very interesting: “I’m very pleased that the traditional Hankø Race Week and Hankø now is part of our NORC ranking for 2010. I believe that many of our sailors will appreciate this decision. Royal Norwegian Yacht Club and Fredrikstad Sailing Club have again and again shown us that they have can deliver high quality events. This event is very much in line with NORC's intention.”

Peder Nergaard, the Commodore of the Hankø Yacht Club, is enthusiastic: ”Finally we are back with a whole week of racing. We are very well prepared to host all the yachts and have 320 meters of  harbor space fully equipped with fresh water and electricity.”

The HRW Big Boat Series registration will start Friday June 25. The first day of racing will be June 26. Last racing day and the prize giving ceremony will be Tuesday June 29, leaving one day of rest before the registration for the Hankø Race Week One Design starts.
