ORC International Certificate

ORC International certificate comes in two A4 pages. The First page contains all the rating details used mainly by the race committee to score races as well as by sailors while racing. Besides the boat's data with general specifications, there is rating information provided for the simple scoring options and time allowances for Performance Curve Scoring with four types of pre-selected courses. The most important section for sailors is the Velocity prediction in knots for true wind speed given in the table for 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 20 knots of true wind speed and wind angles of optimum beat, 52, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120, 135, 150 and optimum downwind angles. Additionally, there is infomation about declared and default crew weight including double-handed scoring coefficients, number of sails allowed aboard while racing and limitation for the storm sail's area.

Second page is the IMS Measurement certificate that includes all the measurements as recorded by the measurer including complete sails inventory and measurement inventory recorded on the inclining test. Some measurement data such as mizzen, centerboard, canting keel and water ballast are shown only when they are relevant.

Boat

Boat's name and sail number
GPH: General Purpose Handicap is an average representation of all time allowances used for simple comparisons between boats and possible class divisions. It is calculated as an average of the time allowances of 8 and 12 knots true wind speed for the Circular Random pre-selected course.

Class, Designer and Builder:
Series: Month and Year of launching of the first boat of series
Age: Month and Year of launching the boat
Age Allowance: credit for age of 0.065% of ratings increase for each year from Age or Series Date to the current rule year up to maximum of 20 years (1.3%).

Hull

Length Overall: length overall a boat including the whole hull, excluding any spar, between the stem and aftermost point of the hull
Maximum Beam: maximum hull width
Displacement: displacement in measurement trim
Draft: draft in measurement trim
IMS Reg. Division: Racing or Cruiser/Racer
Accommodation length: simplified representation of the size of the yacht used in Accommodation Regulations
Dynamic Allowance: credit representing dynamic behavior of a boat taking into account performance in unsteady states
Fwd Accomodation: when the bow forward of the mast is fully fitted out as a separate sleeping or living space
Hull Construction: Solid, Cored, Carbon, Light/Other
Carbon Rudder: when rudder and/or rudder post contain carbon fiber in any amount
Trim Tab: presence of trim tab
IMS L: effective sailing length which takes into account the hull shape along its length and especially at the ends of the yacht, both above and below the plane of flotation in sailing trim
VCGD: vertical centre of gravity from the datum line in the hull offset file
VCGM: vertical centre of gravity from the measurement water line
